The independent city of St. Louis is the only one of its kind in what used to be the United States. Using the Mississippi River to their advantage, the government of St. Louis forged their independence after the creation of the Wastelands, and they've fought hard to maintain it.

Now, St. Louis is a trade hub for many of the nations of the world, including those countries that used to be part of the United States. Bordering on The Wastelands, St. Louis is always at risk for being overtaken by the barbarism of that fallen area, but the nations that surround the growing city do everything they can, now, to help this massive trading hub.
