Description

A celebratory breakfast party at a Chelsea studio is shattered by the crash of a nearby aeroplane. Two men in a parachute land on the roof-one dead, the other seriously injured. While the guests are in shock, the host, a successful painter, emerges from his cellar after a long absence, behaving erratically and seemingly aware of details he could not possibly know.

As his circle of friends tries to manage the aftermath, they are drawn into a conspiracy of silence to protect one of their own when it's discovered the injured pilot is a close friend and a pistol is found on the scene. A journalist guest attempts to unravel the truth behind the painter's bizarre behavior and the group's cover-up, leading him down a path of strange clues, a mysterious police investigation, and an impossible witness who saw everything from a place where he could see nothing.
