Instead, they are caught in a storm, stranded in an overturned carriage, and mistaken as an eloping couple.

What begins as a chance encounter soon entangles them in a far more complicated journey. To protect Hugh's sister, and salvage their own reputations, they must pose as what society already suspects: a pair of lovers on the run. But at what point does pretence become reality?
