Ragnar Stalrask, known as the hammer has made a name for himself as a great battle commander of the Southlands. He has known nothing but war in his life, and the new peace with the magic users of the Danu has been a challenge. A welcome one, but for a warrior born, a challenge none the less. As has living among the Northern people and their unfamiliar ways.
Still, he has adapted and learned new ways to fight and survive in the unfriendly wilds of the Danu's beloved Green and, as hard as it is to believe, even made connections among the magic users.

A mysterious woman with abilities seen only in myth and legend arrives to herald the coming war. The more they learn of her past the less trustworthy she seems.
Ragnar tells himself it would be foolish to trust her, even as he becomes her greatest champion. She could be the end of them if she turned her power against them in the coming battle, or she could be the one thing that turns the tides in their favor.
From across the vast ocean an old enemy plots and schemes sending trouble their way. Now the warriors of the Southern Armies under King Rek Morten and the few Danu who have survived to find their true Danu Queen must push aside the last of their mistrust to face a new threat.
