But the raw fury unleashed during the battle awakens Chaos itself. In a violent, cosmic upheaval, the enchanted world is split in twain. The newly born realm is cast adrift. Generations pass and the ripples of that ancient cataclysm still break across the Fair Enchanted Land. A devoted hearth gnome, whose heart is broken when his last remaining human charge has crossed the ocean in search of a new life, awakens an ancient tree who opens a secret portal into the mortal realm to help him find her. Decades later, the gnome and his companions journey back to the Magic realm and find themselves called to rescue the abducted elf king, only to discover an even deeper mystery.

A young adventurer, annoyingly guarded by three of her twelve brothers, unearths a cognizant, magical book in an abandoned dwarf forge. The living text reveals the ultimate mystery: the lost queen and twin princes of the last Noble House of Man lie in an enchanted sleep within a hidden dragon sanctuary. As they team up with the new bearer of the Sword of Flame and his gnome companions to rescue the royal family, an astonishing fact is revealed: She and her brothers are the grandchildren of the Winter King, and only he can break the Dreki curse forever. But, as one adventure ends, another begins. The young mage must face a shattering destiny: she must journey to the frost giant realm of Jotunheim to find her grandfather and tell him of his daughter's sacrifice, but while she is there, her Jotun blood begins to rise. Either she will control it or it will control her.The ultimate balance of the world hangs on her choice.
