Isabelle Marks and Randall Greene are engaged to be married. They have been together for two years, and love each other a lot. Belle wants to attend the Governor's masquerade ball that Randall is supposed to go to as well, but he backs out at the last minute for work.

Disappointed, she attends anyway at his insistence. When a case of mistaken identity leads her to a man who shakes the safe world she has established for herself, she wonders where he is leading her. Should she stay with Randall who loves her and with whom she is happy with, or should she accept the dance of the stranger who can communicate with her on an entirely new level? Isabelle is torn between the two men who both love her. She is forced to examine herself and the real reasons she is either staying or running from the two men.
