English summary: Marta Pallavidni's study is concerned with the formal and substantive analysis of diplomatic and propaganda texts which were created during the period of the Hittite Empire. The diplomatic texts chiefly concern political treaties, international statements and letters; the propaganda texts, the so-called historiographic texts, contain mostly the annals and deeds of kings within the Hittite territory. The diplomatic texts are analyzed in terms of the terminology, structure, content and legal aspects as well as the symbolic repertoire and location of discovery. On the other hand, the relevant historiographic texts are analyzed in terms of the narrative techniques, the texts' addressees, and their formal objectives. In this way, the specific properties of the diplomatic texts are clarified with the result that the diplomatic relations between the Hittite Empire and neighboring countries are worked out, as well as the political, social, economic and religious conceptions of the Hittites. Finally, the mutual influence of diplomacy and propaganda in the Hittite Empire is also presented. This book is written in Italian and contains an extensive German summary. German description: Marta Pallavidinis Studie widmet sich der formalen und der inhaltlichen Analyse von Texten der Diplomatie und der Propaganda, die wahrend der hethitischen Grossreichszeit verfasst worden sind. Zu den Texten der Diplomatie gehoren vor allem Staatsvertrage, internationale Anweisungen und Briefe; zu den Texten der Propaganda, den sogenannten historiografischen Texten, zahlen im hethitischen Bereich in erster Linie Annales und Res Gestae, in denen die Taten der Konige erzahlt werden. Bei den diplomatischen Texten werden die Terminologie, die Struktur, der Inhalt und die juristischen Aspekte sowie das verwendete Zeichenrepertoire und die Fundorte untersucht. Bei den fur die Studie relevanten historiografischen Texten wiederum werden die Erzahltechniken, die Adressaten sowie die Zielsetzung analysiert. Auf diese Weise werden die besonderen Eigenschaften der diplomatischen Texte geklart, und in der Folge werden die Art der diplomatischen Beziehungen zwischen dem hethitischen Reich und den anderen vorderasiatischen Landern sowie die sich dabei manifestierenden politischen, gesellschaftlichen, wirtschaftlichen und religiosen Konzeptionen der Hethiter herausgearbeitet. Schliesslich wird die wechselseitige Beeinflussung von Diplomatie und Propaganda im hethitischen Bereich dargelegt. Das Buch ist auf Italienisch geschrieben und enthalt eine ausfuhrliche deutsche Zusammenfassung.
