We just made it through the gates when the murmuring of the fallen turned into a bloodgurgling scream of a thousand high pitches. the darkness was almost touchable, dense and thick, filled with the ice-cold of nothing, void and death gripping at our skin. I bent forward to catch my breath, trying to shut out the screams of never ending torture. Isabella dusted off her garments as she straightened herself up. I felt a sudden presence behind us, so overwhelming I could feel the eyes pierce right through me. Isabella must have felt it too, because she shot a glance of panic at me, and we both swung around instantaneously.

What came next was something I would never in my wildest dreams have imagined.
