Hawk had been a nomad most of his life. They drove from town to town and state to state and never stopped for more than three days. He was the prez of the Nomads and took taking care of them seriously.
When they decided to settle in one area, he was shocked at how everything fell into place. They now had a permanent home and ways to make money. Along the way, he saved a woman and took her to where he knew she'd be safe. He felt something for her. He just didn't know what.
Emily was at the wrong place at the wrong time. She would have been tortured and killed if it wasn't for Hawk. She starts to have feelings for him but doesn't know if they're real or just gratitude for saving her.
It isn't until something happens to Emily that it draws them together. Now they have to find the person who wants to destroy her.
