Urban legends have always existed, but with the rise of movies, television shows and net shows they have exploded. Most of the legends are just harmless ways to scare each other but some come out of the collective unconscious and take on physical form. Ellie Walker is the Scribe and her job is to send those escaped legends back into the fictional world before they grow too strong.
When her parents die she returns to Nashua and hopes for a peaceful time to finish her current manuscript before her deadline but a Scribe's live is never calm. She meets the Guardian and finds an attraction but also there is a new Photophage out there and something is very different about it. Will she be able to send back with Harry's help or will this be the end of thirty years of being the Scribe?
