I went out to celebrate my new job with John, Maggie, and Sophie – three friends I've known since forever. We were all in our early twenties and all doing well in life. I was the last to make a success of myself, though.
Out of the three, Sophie was my best friend. Blonde and curvy, with bright blue eyes and a pretty heart-shaped face, she was seriously hot stuff. If we hadn't been so close, then I'd have made a move by now. But alas, she was my best friend. I didn't want to wreck that by hitting on her. I wasn't sure what her reaction would have been, and besides, a girl as beautiful as she was, surely wouldn't be interested in me.
But I had a plan. One that would let me do whatever I wanted to the girl of my dreams.
