The healthcare community is characterized by the fact that, firstly, health is considered to be the greatest good, that, secondly, health is seen as increasingly feasible, and that, thirdly, the run for that good health is considered as a growth engine in particular for an ageing society. But what is health? In a highly competent way, Hans-Martin Rieger joins the discussion on social, medical, psychological and philosophical ideas of health. The proposal of a transdisciplinary model and a theological reflection are intended to stimulate further critical discussions. German description: "Hauptsache gesund!" Dieses Motiv verbindet Menschen unterschiedlicher Herkunft, es ist daruber hinaus zu einem Zukunftsthema der Gesellschaft des 21. Jahrhunderts geworden. Die 'Gesundheitsgesellschaft' ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass sie Gesundheit erstens als hochsten Wert ansieht, dass sie Gesundheit zweitens als zunehmend machbar betrachtet und dass sie in der starken Nachfrage nach dem Gut 'Gesundheit' drittens einen Wachstumsmotor gerade auch in alternden Gesellschaften erblickt. Doch was ist 'Gesundheit'? Eine normale korperliche und psychische Funktionsfahigkeit, ein vollstandiges Wohlbefinden oder ein dynamischer Zustand des Gleichgewichts? Hochst kompetent tritt Hans-Martin Rieger in die Diskussion gesellschaftlicher, medizinischer, gesundheitspsychologischer und philosophischer Vorstellungen ein. Dazu werden anthropologische Leitvorstellungen ethisch reflektiert und Grundmerkmale eines menschenangemessenen Gesundheitsverstandnisses erkundet. Ein transdisziplinarer Modellvorschlag und eine theologische Betrachtung bieten konstruktive Gesprachsanstosse.
