Description

Little Wandle Code provides effective reading intervention for students in early Key Stage 3. This proven program--featuring ten age-appropriate, leveled, fully decodable anthologies and three workbooks--supports students who are not meeting age-related expectations when they begin secondary school.

The Grow the Code Student Workbook is an essential component of the Little Wandle Code program and is used by students during reading intervention lessons. It is designed for learners who already have a basic understanding of the alphabetic code.

Students work through the workbook during intervention sessions to strengthen their phonics knowledge and build confidence through consistent, carefully sequenced activities.

Each session includes:

Introduction of target graphemes
Curriculum words to learn
Summary sections with review opportunities and self-reflection prompts
End-of-unit tasks where students apply phonics knowledge by creating new words

Each workbook also includes a tricky words grid, a You as a Reader survey, a pathway chart, and a glossary.

The workbooks are fully integrated into the Little Wandle Code program and are supported by teacher notes and instructional slides available through the Little Wandle Code subscription.
