Readjusting to normal life at the Station isn't as easy as Nyx Fortuna would like, so she isn't too upset at having another problem to distract her. Namely, finding Tristen Veld, the exiled Shaman who is her only chance at freeing Griff and the Stations.
The catch? The only information she has on his whereabouts is that he was living in Dead Earth fifteen years ago. Tracking him down is difficult enough, but when she does, he isn't at all what Nyx expects. Life hasn't treated him kindly, and it's left the exiled Shaman cynical and angry.
Nyx, not exactly full of hope herself these days, isn't sure she's the right person to convince him to help her, but she has to try. And the funny thing about convincing someone else that life is worth fighting for? Sometimes, you convince yourself of the same thing along the way.
