Description

Bryn Halsey, sheriff of Creedence, Texas, upheld the law with a firm hand. But when a brutal murder took place, he found himself faced with a real conundrum. Even as he tried to figure out who had murdered the newly-arrived Pinkerton operative, a second man was killed in the same brutal way … and still Halsey had no clues to go on.
Then things got a sight more complicated, when Halsey himself almost became the victim of an ambush.
Someone wanted him dead, and he had a fair idea who.
That's when he started hitting back.
It was only when a second Pinkerton agent arrived that Halsey found himself with an ally. Together, they tracked down and cornered the unknown killer in a vicious storm. But who would still be on their feet when the gunsmoke cleared?
