So what do you really want to do?
Write? Publish? Or actually make money from your work?
Then ask yourself this.
What is the real point of chasing big publishers?
They are businesses. Nothing more. They look for low risk, fast returns, and authors who already come with an audience. Even if they accept you, the hard truth remains: you still do most of the promotion yourself.
Most writers never hear back.
Some get rejected.
Others get dropped without explanation.
Why put yourself through that cycle?
Why hand over control, rights, and income just to be told you are not good enough?
Self-publishing is not giving up.
It is choosing ownership.
It is deciding not to lie down and wait for permission.
If you are going to work this hard anyway, you may as well work for yourself.
