Description

A series of rape-murders causes Hunter Shaw—former cop, now earning a living chasing bail-breaking escapees—to think that an major crime kingpin is doing this to lure him into a trap and take revenge on Hunter for the killing of his brother. Hunter, unwilling to be the cause of yet more deaths, decides to take the bait and manages to save the next victim from a grim fate.

However, Mary Bishop is not a potential victim at all. She's the lure; the bait in the trap. The reward for reeling Hunter in: a quarter of a million dollars.

After Hunter saves Mary, the two quickly grow close. But is this real, or is she just playing him along; ultimately luring him to an uninhabited island for an elaborate snuff game that pretends to be a Survivor-style reality TV show, where the man hunting Hunter prepares for yet another killing spree among the participants, completing his twisted revenge on his target?

NOTE: This is a short novel, just over 30k words; based on a screenplay and following a screenplay-type of structure. The novel alternates between present- and past-tense sections, seen from the 3rd person POVs of the two main characters.
