The publication narrates the genesis and evolution of hybrid creatures from fables, myths, and legends — fantastic creatures composed of humans and animals that appear across all world cultures. The book is structured like a grand Wunderkammer (cabinet of curiosities), bringing together historical and ethnographic artifacts, curiosities, and work by a large selection of contemporary artists. It invites the reader on a wondrous journey exploring these composite creatures.
