In the August of 1870, nineteen-year-old Jack Freeman arrived at a remote Teton cabin as a soft-handed merchant's son chasing romantic dreams of the frontier. Ten months later, he rode out of the mountains as something else entirely—a legend whispered in saloons and feared by desperate men.
