The Enchanter and Chimera (poem)

In knightly days of yore did the Enchanter create a chimera creature,

A hybrid of lion and bird to hunt a giant Roc bird,

A giant bird of prey of the lands of Arabia years of old,

He admired the Roc as it gracefully flew through the clouds from the back of his Chimera

He wore a suit of shining armour, feathers flew from his steed's giant wings,

He drew his enchanted sword and the flying lion flew in for the kill,

He stabbed the snapping giant bird and it fell from the sky,

Landing in a great thud.
