A Mandala is quite a popular part of the Hindu and Buddhist traditions, Mandalas are an object of meditation to aid in one's spiritual development.
The imagery depicts the universe and the symbols represent one's spiritual journey and connection to their beliefs and their religion, the cycles of birth-life-death, and the interconnectedness of all living things.
The Hindu tradition focuses on the sort of realization of the self as one with the divine.
But in the Buddhist traditions, the emphasis is on the potential for enlightenment (the Buddha-nature) and the pictures within these mandalas are proof of the obstacles that one has to overcome in order to cultivate compassion and wisdom to grow spiritually while seeking the divine.
This coloring book contains several beautiful illustrations of mandalas that are both visually appealing and fun for kids to color and have fun with their friends or do it alone for several hours at a time.
