Jake's different. Grumpy, tall, looks older than his real age and is fit even though he doesn't work out. He's unlike most men that live in the apartment complex after the fall of society. Not being rough and unkind like them, he isn't looking for his next hookup, and he never thought that he was going to find his true love in another man. Richard works the nights, being the resident's plaything when they are bored with their usual partners. He has a 'gift' that straight men love, and he knows how to push all of their buttons.

That's why he's so desired. He's been seeking, his whole life, the possibility of settling down with someone. Maybe Jake would fit the bill, but he doesn't seem interested. Plus, he's pretty sure that he's so straight that his gift doesn't mean anything to him. But then it takes an unlikely chain of events, a fight that should never have happened, until he finds himself pregnant with Jake's baby. They don't know what life has in store for them, and now they need to flee from the building where they live as soon as possible. They know danger is coming.
