A philosopher trained in the Frankfurt School of Horkheimer and Adorno and simultaneously a theologian in the vein of Karl Barth, systematic theologian Hans-Georg Geyer (1929-1999) has influenced numerous students in the decades between the Berlin Wall until the reunification of Germany.
This volume presents the conference results of a working group gathered by Henning Theißen who pioneers future research on Geyer's teaching and scientific works. Exploring Geyer's literary remains, the authors reconstruct the vivid intellectual and sociocultural contexts in which Geyer's theology is situated. The scientific edition of four hitherto unpublished sermons adds a widely unknown perspective to the protrait of Geyer.
