Based on the findings of a multi-year research project, this volume profiles successful community engagement practices at historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs), Hispanic-serving institutions (HSIs), and tribal colleges. Engagement levels at these institutions outstrip levels seen elsewhere on nearly every measure; the innovative ways these institutions put engagement into practice offer models for all of higher education.
