Het Jaarboek voor Nederlandse boekgeschiedenis publiceert Nederlands- en Engelstalige wetenschappelijke artikelen op het gebied van de boekgeschiedenis van de Lage Landen in alle perioden. Elke editie bestaat uit een thema-dossier en een selectie aan andere artikelen. Het thema-dossier van het 31e Jaarboek (2024) is gewijd aan artikelen over ophef in de Nederlandse boekgeschiedenis. Aan bod komen voorbeelden van boeken van de late middeleeuwen tot nu die ophef veroorzaakten; controversiële auteurs en verzamelaars; boeken die een maatschappelijke beweging in gang zetten; boeken die een controversieel gedachtegoed uitdragen en daarom niet meer worden gelezen; en ethische vraagstukken rond boek en uitgeverij.

The Yearbook for Dutch Book History publishes Dutch and English-language scholarly articles on the book history of the Low Countries in all time periods. Every edition consists of a thematic issue, combined with a selection of other articles of interest to Dutch book history. The 31st edition of the Yearbook (2024) is primarily dedicated to the theme ‘Controversy’. It includes contributions about controversial books dating from the late Middle Ages as well as more recent ages; controversial authors and collectors; books that shocked society and set in motion broader societal changes; books representing controversial ideologies and readers’ reactions to those books; and ethical issues in the book trade and publishing industry.
