Digitalisation is transforming the world of work - and digital labour platforms are at the heart of this change. Millions in Europe already work through platforms, often without legal clarity regarding their employment status. The new EU Directive 2024/2831 on improving working conditions in platform work aims to address these challenges by introducing clear rules on employment classification, algorithmic management, and legal redress. It marks a milestone in European labour law.
This Book is the first publication to systematically analyse and contextualise the Directive.
