Vashti Swann Tamerlane Haven is born the son of the galaxy's most infamous Thief and the Emperor's daughter. Lost on a world called Center, it is literally the central world in the huge conglomerate of planets called the ConFedium and ruled by Camin Sher, the Pretender. He has murdered the entire Haven family line save for the Emperor's grandson and is searching the planet systems for him. Vashti rules the underground and hidden ways on the planet Center, known also for the global wide rift that divides her equator. Called simply the Canyon, it provides him with everything he needs for survival for he knows every secret niche and passageway in it. Forced to abandon the only he knows, he runs to another universe, with the last thing his father left him, a nav-disc that held the location of a world called Terra.
