Created by mistake, Ensign Mike is a cyborg mushroom who's simply trying to belong, but the crew they belong to is full of chaos and problems of its own...

The Wanderlust has been fighting to get home, traveling across the Tetra galaxy for a year, and the crew is feeling the strain. Especially the rabbit-like alien, Lt. Cmdr. Vossie, who lost his neural implant when it became blended with mycelial flesh and woke up as Ensign Mike.

Without the soothing presence of his neural implant, Lt. Cmdr. Vossie starts to make erratic decisions, and Ensign Mike—who was literally designed to care about the rabbit's well-being—is torn about how to keep him from going entirely off the rails.

Join Ensign Mike as they navigate the shady side of Spindle Reef station, wrestle with the intentions of gecko-like aliens, and generally try to figure out how to be a person when they've only been alive for a year, and their mere existence incites resentment in the person they love most!
