In the last four decades Latin America has experienced one of the fastest growing higher education sectors in the world. 25 million students are currently enrolled in more than 3,800 universities. As a result, higher education in the region has had to respond to growing demands for access, pressures for quality and sustainable financing, institutional diversification and internationalization, while simultaneously facing technological disruptions and governance challenges that require new leadership and management approaches.
