THE UNCOMFORTABLE TRUTH

Let me start with an uncomfortable truth that will irritate everyone: We are all agnostics. Every single one of us.

I, as an atheist, believe there is no god. You, as a believer, believe there is one. But neither of us knows it. We just think we know.

The difference is that I admit I believe, while you claim you know. Anyone who says they know with 100% certainty that god exists or doesn't exist is lying - either to others or to themselves.

This is not religious criticism. This is epistemology - the study of what we can know. And what we can know about god is: nothing certain.

But this is not a book about god. This is a book about humans under religion. About how and why humans are in and with religion without questioning things that are good and bad for us as human beings.
