In January 2011, the David and Jemima Jeselsohn Epigraphic Center for Jewish History held its second international conference, dedicated to the memory of Professor Hanan Eshel, the founding academic director of the center who passed away in 2010. This collection of articles traces daily life in the land of Israel from the First Temple Period through the time of the Talmud, as seen in the various types of inscriptions from those periods that have been discovered and published.
