Les oeuvres de Selim ne sont donc pas statiques. Dans les dessins, dans sa peinture, la ligne même vibre, la forme est mouvante. Elle laisse sa trace sur la feuille, ce que l'on perçoit avec ll saluto che vi porto (2007) ou Metropolitana (2008). Ce mouvement suggéré est aussi celui du déséquilibre contemporain. Ainsi, dans ses derniers travaux, Selim pointe l'ambivalence des impressions, des sensations et des sentiments, où la multitude et la solitude, la sérénité et l'inquiétude se côtoient. Si précaire soit-il, l'équilibre - de la matière, des éléments et de la condition humaine - est à rechercher ou à préserver.

The images are placed on the sheet with increasing freedom, no longer at the centre but to one side either at the top or the bottom, sometimes even touching the edge, according to a ratio of mass to space in which the space is always the greater. Within that ample space the graphic signs, always asymmetrical, move freely, expanding obliquely like comets traversing cosmic space, floating like passing clouds, spurting out energy like masses of cosmic material in continuous transformation.

Selim's work is not, therefore, static. In his drawings, in his paintings, the line itself vibrates, the shape is moving. It leaves its mark on the sheet, what we perceive with The greeting I bring you (2007) or Underground (2008). This suggested movement is also that of contemporary imbalance. Indeed, in his last works, Selim indicates the ambivalence of impressions, of sensations and of feelings, where multitude and solitude, peace-fulness and worries live alongside one another. However precarious it may be, the equilibrium - of the substance, of the elements and of the human condition - is to be sought or maintained.
