Annie Pattison sets out on a hundred-mile trek through the Scottish Highlands, carrying the ashes of her late husband to the highest peak of his favourite trail. This journey was meant to be a final goodbye-a way to honour the man she loved.

But the trail is not empty.

At night, she wakes to the sound of footsteps circling her tent-slow, deliberate. The wind carries eerie whispers that don't belong to the living.
