This book discusses disruptively innovative antenna technologies that can break through the fundamental constraints of conventional fixed-position antenna technologies. The authors show how this technology can enable the full exploitation of wireless channel spatial variation at transceivers with flexible position and rotation antennas, called six-dimensional movable antennas (6DMAs). The book studies challenges in 6DMA-enhanced wireless networks by unveiling associated new channel models, hardware implementations and architectures, and practical position/rotation constraints, as well as various appealing applications in wireless networks. The book investigates innovative signal processing and communication methods for 6DMA to reap its high-performance gains under practical environmental conditions. The authors propose two novel 6DMA channel estimation algorithms and six antenna position and rotation optimization algorithms.
