SAND CITY is large in tax base, small in population. This postage stamp piece of prime real estate sits between the cities of Seaside and Monterey California. Its residential section has always been minute, compared to its big box stores and local craftsmen. Over time it has also attracted local artists. For a couple of weeks each year, muralists ascend upon these sandy shores and add to this city's urban landscape. For one weekend a year, one of Monterey County's most beloved festivals takes over the core of Sand City for its annual West End Celebration. In addition to my SKETCHBOOK SERIES, I've created a CULINARY ADVENTURE SERIES - TRAVEL FICTION. Omar T and his family are in a different city for each novel. The travel fiction aspect is enhanced with descriptions of actual sites, restaurants, bookstores, galleries and shops-including sketches, favorite lists and recipes. Diversity in race, religion, culture, language and sexual orientation not only exists within Omar's family, it is celebrated in these tales. Each Omar T book is independent, you do not need to read them in the order of their publication. Though, as the collection grows, there are occasional references to other books in the series.
