Born in Hungary, painter Suzanne Perlman (1922-2020) fled Europe during World War II and briefly studied with Oskar Kokoschka before finally settling in Curaçao, where she remained for 50 years, developing a vivid expressionist style that captured the spirit of the island and its people with rare intimacy.
