Description

Amy is the girl next door. Literally. Her neighbor has gotten her to babysit his grandchild while he plays poker with the boys in the basement. "Come here, sugar," Tom said, waving her over.

He always called her "sugar" or "honey" or "sweetheart." She didn't like it, but he was her elder so could do as he pleased. Sometimes Amy wondered if Tom even knew her name, or cared what it was.

"Hey," she said, giving the men a little wave as she reached Tom's side. She turned back to her employer, "Sir, can I get paid now?"
