When Zara arrives for a routine sitting job, she finds her client—a powerful local witch—deep in a magically induced sleep. Worse, her ancient, spell-reciting familiar, a highly-valued parrot holding centuries of magical secrets, has been bird-napped. With only ten days until the witch's life is at risk, Zara has to crack a paranormal case the police wouldn't touch.
