Nyx Bloom is an independent salvage specialist— no, that doesn't mean she's a pirate. She and her devoted sexbot-upgraded-to-first mate, Zelda, search the galaxy on her utility ship for the ruins of alien civilizations, scuttled starships, and the occasional overlooked asteroid full of rare ore.

As glamorous as the job sounds, the loan shark out to repossess her ship, the <i>Rebexa</i> for too many late payments is proof that the glamour is nothing more than an illusion. She needs a big score and she needs it quick if she's going to lose everything she has.

What she finds makes "big score" seem like space dust scraped off the bow of her ship. Her problems become much worse when she has to figure out what, exactly, she found, and how she can make money off of it without destroying all life in the Milky Way in the process.
