Hangman's band of the Godless Clan has overcome insurmountable obstacles to find safety in a remote territory where their enemies will never find them—or have they? The band's peaceful existence comes crashing down around their ears when the men discover a traitor in their midst. The catastrophic consequences will uproot everything they've ever known and send them on a new quest in search of safety and a connection to the last people left alive in the world.
The traitor leading the band's enemies to their doorstep is only the beginning, though. Internal rivalries, political conflicts, and family dynamics threaten the band's cohesion from the inside as much or more than all the dangerous creatures and enemies circling on the outside.
Everything the band has worked so hard to achieve could fall apart before their eyes just when they think they've found what they most desire. Then everyone will have to rebuild from the ground up so a new generation can rise and prosper in a world of chaos and uncertainty.
