Otherwise, there was no way they could have even spoken to Him (God). Instead, God killed an animal and used the blood to cover their spiritual nakedness. Then, He used the animal skin to cover their physical nakedness. Shedding blood for atonement was instituted by God in the Garden of Eden. It is non-negotiable!
