THE TERROR OF THE SIMULACRA trilogy is a story about average people living in 21st century dystopian America, a society in which freedom is just a rumor, a rumor propagated twenty-four hours a day by the sycophantic corporate media--while the average worker is becoming more enslaved to the universal credit-debt system by the hour, making American workers, effectively, indentured servants to the international power elite, the nameless, faceless destroyers of everything that makes life worth living. From bank foreclosures, layoffs, and increasingly lower wages, to precipitously dropping educational standards and school shootings, modern America has it all. With no pretense of justice or fairness, the power elite work their will to destroy all vestiges of collective bargaining, pension systems, and real health care for those who actually have to work for a living. Without anything solid to stand on, Americans are becoming increasingly desperate, living in daily terror that the scraps the master deigns to allow them will be capriciously taken. THE TERROR OF THE SIMULACRA trilogy is a story about the illusion of democracy, the illusion of freedom, the illusion of justice, the illusion of fairness, the illusion of inclusivity. Could a society in which 99% are effectively marginalized be called a civilization at all? When all but the most elite are just one illness away from losing everything they've worked for all their lives, one has to wonder about the rules of the game--rules that terrorize all but those same elite into abject submission. The rules of the game are written by the few, the few who chose to make the world a living hell for everyone else. In such a society, a society constructed to create and magnify pain and suffering, one has to ask: who are the real terrorists? And finally: is there hope for peace in our time? THE TERROR OF THE SIMULACRA trilogy is the story of our time. It is a story of struggle for dignity in a world of pain. It may be the story of every generation in every land and clime. If so, the story will not go away soon. Unless, that is, we as a species end what would then be our short tenure here on planet earth.
