Test your powers of logic with 200 puzzles from The Times. Like a mathematical crossword, these puzzles are ideal for fans of sudoku who enjoy working with numbers.
With four levels of difficulty, each puzzle combines arithmetic with an intersecting layout: Mild, Medium, Tricky, and Tough.
Kakuro originated in the United States in the 1950s under the name Cross Sums. The goal is to fill the grid using digits 1 through 9 so that the numbers in each row and column add up to the clue for that block. Like sudoku, digits cannot be repeated within a row or column.
Also known as: Croco Puzzle, Cross Sums, CrossSam, Kasan Kurosu, Kreuzsummenrätsel, Tashizan Cross, and Zahlenschwede.
