Description

Eighty-year-old Newell Franklin lives a quiet, somewhat regimented life in his small wooden house on Elm Street in Archer City, Texas. Each morning he awakes at 6:00 a.m., showers, has his coffee and eggs, and then goes about the business of building doghouses and birdhouses-which he gives away. If the Texas Rangers are playing ball that day, he'll watch or listen on the radio. Some days he goes fishing. His is a simple life. But that all changes when a young woman and her daughter move in next door.
