The history of Aethelgard began with a promise made by King Theron the Unbroken—a vow to protect his land at any cost. In return, the world answered with divine golden light, binding him to the kingdom itself. For generations, Aethelgard flourished under his legacy.

But promises fade when they are forgotten.

As centuries passed, memory turned to myth, and myth turned to greed. Loyalty was replaced by betrayal, unity by corruption. The royal court decayed from within until even the throne became a symbol of lies rather than protection.

When the kingdom finally breaks its ancient vow, the golden light dies—and something far darker awakens.
