Three of the biggest names in contemporary art collide in an explosion of color and pop culture
For the first time ever, the exhibition Triple Trouble brings together the work of three titans of contemporary art: Shepard Fairey, Damien Hirst and Invader. Spanning painting, sculpture and installation, the three artists remixed and redesigned their most familiar motifs: Fairey's color-blocked posters set in mosaic, Hirst's signature Cherry Blossoms with Obey superimposed on top, Invader's signature aliens suspended in formaldehyde. These provocative reconfigurations not only transform each artist's oeuvre but challenge the boundaries between contemporary art, street culture and pop iconography. This playful catalog reproduces all of the works in the exhibition--both individual works and bold new collaborations--and includes a long-form conversation between all three artists and writer James Fox.
