Psychotherapy has a very long history going back, way, way back to even before the Ancient Egyptians. From that time until this very day, people have been seeking relief andguidance from people who understandi how to moderate and address the psychological challenges of our very human life. Disciplines like Counseling, Guidances, Coaching, and advice giving have become common intervention aproaches to guide us through the tough times of life. When we move beyond these recognized approaches to mediation and assitance, we can enter the world of Psychotherapy. This is a big deal because psychotherapy is not merely a talking process about one's pscyhological challenges that, perhaps, have become overwhelming., depressing, or fatiguing. Psychotherapy is not simply about healing and reducing one's emotional confusion. It is about re-orienting one's life's purpose. It is often about learning new ways to reduce past emotional pain that holds one back. It is about going beyond mere survival to add meaning and authentic purpose to one's entire life including relationships and career. Psychotherapy is about Healing the Mind and Spirit and adding purpose and meaning to one's life.
