Fenella was the first Scarborough girl to be cursed, hundreds of years ago; and she has been trapped in the faerie realm every since, forced to watch generations of daughters try to break the elfin curse that has enslaved them. But now Fenella's descendant, Lucy, has broken the curse by performing its three impossible tasks. And yet, Fenella herself is still trapped in Faerie. Immortal. Desperate.
But not without ideas. Fenella makes a deal with the new, young Faerie Queen. Then, with a heart that she thinks died long ago, she sets off with a sarcastic fae companion who has been enchanted into cat-form. Her goal, with his reluctant help, is to accomplish her own three tasks.
She has no idea how deadly those tasks will be.
