More than half the planet of Circe is free, thanks to a rebellion backed by the Wraith's underground organization, the Revenants. Humans long-victimized by the tyranny of vampire overlords rally alongside off-worlders and lycanthropes pledged to the Wraith's cause of freedom for the galaxy. And otherworldly powers stir alongside war machines.

The Immortals of the Theocracy have no intent of giving up even one drop of blood, let alone a whole world. Already they gather fresh forces, both on Circe and beyond it in the icy expanses of space. Armored legions, space fleets, and horrors beyond mortal ken muster to crush the uprising.
