Once upon a time; We were as new to this world as was the first person ever born. We asked questions, curious about the world. We were taught right from wrong. We had a value system for making a decision. The "Daily News" believes in the basic principles of Americanism; the right to criticize; the right to hold unpopular beliefs; the right to protest; and the right of independent thought. Without these principles comes thought control, groupthink, herd behavior and uniform party line thinking. Do Americans deserve the right of free speech? Do Americans know that freedom of speech is the freedom to offend, and forced political correctness is the abridging of this right?
